Overview
Zanzibar is a beautiful archipelago of islands off the coast of Tanzania in East Africa. It is known for its stunning beaches, rich history, and unique culture. Stone Town, the historic capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with winding streets, coral houses, and mosques.
The turquoise waters surrounding Zanzibar are teeming with marine life, making it a world-class diving and snorkeling destination. You can also swim with dolphins or take a boat trip to see humpback whales (between July and September).
Zanzibar is nicknamed “Spice Island” due to its long history of spice production. Cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pepper still grow abundantly here, and you can visit spice plantations to learn about the cultivation process and see the spices growing. Zanzibar is a truly special place, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and unforgettable vacation.
